Instagram Business
OAuth via your Meta App.
Prerequisites
- Instagram Business or Creator account (personal accounts can’t connect)
- Linked to a Facebook Page (Meta requires this)
- Meta App with permissions:
instagram_business_basicinstagram_business_manage_messages
Connect
/dashboard/channels → Connect Instagram → OAuth popup → grant Page-level
permissions → the IG account linked to the picked Page becomes a channel.
Notes
- DMs + Stories replies route as inbound
messages - Story mentions arrive as a separate event type — currently surfaced as a text message with a reference
- 24-hour service window applies
